A single implant and crown, built to sit and function like the tooth it replaces — without any impact on the teeth either side.
A single dental implant replaces one missing tooth from the root up. A small titanium post is placed in the jawbone, acting as an artificial root. Over a period of months it fuses with the surrounding bone — a process called osseointegration — before a custom-made crown is fitted on top.
Unlike a bridge, a single implant doesn't rely on the neighbouring teeth for support, so they're left untouched. It's generally considered the gold-standard replacement for a single missing tooth, both for how it feels and how long it lasts.
In some cases, where there's enough bone and good stability, it's possible to place a tooth on the same day as the implant. Dr. Patel will discuss whether this applies to your case at consultation.
Every case is different — the right treatment for you will be discussed in full during a consultation with Dr. Patel.
